Somerset West Municipal Court temporarily closed until further notice

23 January 2025

The City of Cape Town wants to inform residents that the Municipal Court in Somerset West will be closed to the public until further notice due to water damage. The court should be open again early next week, if all goes as planned.

Water flooded the first floor of the Municipal Court on the corner of Main and Church Streets in Somerset West, and arrangements are under way to attend to this as soon as possible.

In the meantime, in the interest of public safety, the court has been temporarily closed until further notice. If all goes as planned, the building should be accessible again by early next week. The City will keep the public informed.

Payment of pre-due date traffic fines may be made at selected Spar shops or online at www.paythat.co.za, or at any other municipal court in the city.

The City apologises for any inconvenience.

For court enquires, kindly contact Charmaine Juba on 073 549 6556.
